1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Soteria by Lonia AI ("Soteria," "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Important Safety Disclaimer

Soteria is a personal safety tool. It is not a substitute for emergency services. Soteria does not replace calling 911 or your local emergency number. Soteria does not guarantee the prevention of harm. Soteria is designed to assist you in documenting situations, alerting contacts, and preserving evidence — it is one tool in your personal safety plan, not the entire plan.

Lonia AI is not liable for any harm that occurs while using or not using Soteria. The Service is provided to enhance your personal safety capabilities, not to guarantee outcomes.

3. Description of Service

Soteria provides voice-activated personal safety features including audio recording, real-time transcription, GPS tracking, emergency contact notification, evidence preservation, and related features. Features vary by subscription tier.

4. Account Registration

You must sign in using Google or Microsoft OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

5. Recording and Consent Laws

You are responsible for understanding and complying with recording consent laws in your jurisdiction. Soteria provides tools to help you comply — including Silent Alert mode for two-party consent jurisdictions — but legal compliance is ultimately your responsibility. Lonia AI does not provide legal advice.

6. Subscription and Billing

Soteria offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access through the end of your current billing period, then revert to the free tier.

Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions will not be affected until their next renewal date.

7. Your Data

You own your data. Lonia AI does not claim ownership of any recordings, transcripts, or other content you create through Soteria. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled, stored, and protected.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Soteria to violate any law or regulation
• Use Soteria to record others without appropriate consent
• Use Soteria for surveillance of others without their knowledge
• Attempt to circumvent the Service's security measures
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or intimidate others
• Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized access

9. Service Availability

Soteria relies on your device's hardware (microphone, GPS, network connectivity) and third-party services (OAuth providers, cloud infrastructure). Lonia AI does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features requiring network connectivity may be unavailable in areas without reception.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lonia AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Soteria. Lonia AI's total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Lonia AI against claims arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms with 30 days' notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. You may request deletion of your data per our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
