Audio Recording & Transcription

On-device speech-to-text captures every word in real time. Recordings are timestamped, GPS-tagged, and per-segment SHA-256 hashed from the moment you activate.

Continuous GPS Tracking

Your location is tracked throughout an active session. Emergency contacts see exactly where you are, and where you have been.

Emergency Contact Alerts

Your chosen contacts are notified automatically by email with your location, alert type, and live transcript. The email includes an authentication link so the recipient can verify the alert is real. No manual steps required.

Escalation Ladder

Immediate alert, configurable timer, auto-send full recording. Optional auto-dial 911 is on our roadmap. You set the rules. Soteria follows them.

Two Operating Modes

Full Recording mode for one-party consent states. Silent Alert mode for all-party consent states. Soteria detects your jurisdiction by GPS and switches automatically. You can override. The override is logged.

Pre-set a word or phrase. When Soteria hears it, escalation begins automatically. No buttons. No screens.

Generate a realistic incoming call to create an excuse to leave any uncomfortable or dangerous situation. One tap, instant out.

Set a timer for your walk home, your date, your rideshare. If you do not check in by the deadline, your contacts are emailed automatically with your last known location.

Share your planned route. Soteria watches your GPS in real time and alerts contacts if you deviate significantly. Live during active sessions, with arrival confirmation when you finish.

Close the loop. When you end a Soteria session normally, your contacts receive an automatic email confirmation that you are safe. Optional auto-send so contacts never wonder what happened.

Maximum-volume siren and vibration loop designed to deter attackers and attract attention. One-tap activation from the home screen or a long-press shortcut on the activate button. Two-second long-press to stop, preventing accidental dismissal.

Up to 5 Family Members

Add household members to a shared Family plan. Each member has their own account and their own privacy.

Shared Emergency Contacts

Define contacts once at the family level. New members inherit them automatically. Updates propagate to every account on the plan.

Family Safety Dashboard

A single view of every family member’s safety status: active sessions, recent check-ins, alert history, and current preferences. Built for parents, partners, and household coordinators.

Location Sharing

Opt-in location sharing between family members. Each member controls who sees their location and when. No always-on surveillance.

Family Check-In Coordination

Coordinate check-in timers across the household. When one member misses a check-in, the dashboard surfaces it for the rest of the family.

Family Notification Controls

The primary subscriber controls when the family group is alerted. By default, family is notified on escalation and safely-home, but session starts are private unless you opt in. Each member can also choose what to share with the primary.

Stealth Disguise (Triple-Tap Quick Exit)

Triple-tap anywhere in the app to instantly switch to a fully functional fake calculator. The disguise covers tab title, browser favicon, and the full visible interface. Long-press the equals key to return to Soteria. Designed for moments when someone is looking over your shoulder.

Disguised Install Variants

Install Soteria as a Calculator, Weather, or Notes app. Each variant has its own icon, app name, and install URL. From a survivor's home screen, Soteria looks like a utility app no one would think to check.

Duress Protection

Set a duress phrase known only to you. If someone forces you to delete a session, enter the duress phrase. The session appears deleted to the abuser but is preserved in a hidden recovery vault accessible only via a secret URL you control. Evidence chain remains court-admissible.

Hidden Recovery Route

When duress protection is enabled, you receive a unique recovery URL. Bookmark it offline. From that URL, you can recover any session that was "deleted" under duress. The URL is bare — no Soteria branding, no obvious purpose — to protect you from shoulder-surfers.

Forced Cloud Backup (When Duress Enabled)

When duress protection is active, all evidence automatically uploads to encrypted cloud backup. This ensures evidence survives even if your device is destroyed or seized. Cloud storage is opt-in for all other users.

On-Device Processing

Speech-to-text and audio processing happen on your device. Your conversations never touch a server unless you explicitly enable cloud backup.

Court-Admissible Evidence Chain

Per-segment SHA-256 hashing, GPS-tagged, device-fingerprinted, chain-of-custody logged. Self-authenticating under Federal Rules of Evidence 902(13) and 902(14) — the same evidence standard used by law enforcement digital forensics.

Cloud Backup (Opt-In)

End-to-end encrypted backup to the cloud, only if you choose to enable it. Your data, your decision.

OAuth-Only Authentication

Sign in with Google or Microsoft. No passwords stored, ever. No password reset flows, no credential databases, no risk.

Auto-Delete

Recordings are automatically purged after your chosen retention period. Set it and forget it. Your data does not linger.

Consent Law Awareness

Soteria detects your jurisdiction and adjusts its operating mode. Full Recording where permitted, Silent Alert in the fourteen all-party consent states.

User-Visible Audit Log

Every action on your account is logged and visible to you. Open the audit log from Settings to see exactly what happened, when, and from where — session activity, evidence access, account changes, family group events. Plain language. No black box.
